Spacial arrangement, maximizing what already exists, and problem solving…3 of my favorite parts of design. All of which were called upon to furnish these 2 industrial apartments in downtown Ashevilles “chicken Alley”. After years of hapless “DIY” additions, poor layout choices, and inherited 25’ ceilings these vacation rentals were a challenge. With a short amount of time and a conservative budget it was time to get creative. Bold colors and exciting patterns were the obvious choice to really “fill up” this blank canvas. Since the route of a full scale renovation was not an option the object was to not throw the proverbial baby out with the bath water and reimagine what exists in an exciting and budget friendly way.
